Following a return to the win column at ONE 163, Aung La N Sang is now looking to take the next step in his journey back to middleweight gold.
“The Burmese Python” steps back inside the Circle on Saturday, 14 January, when he collides with Chinese standout “King Kong Warrior” Fan Rong at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
The former two-division champion will have his eyes set on an impressive 29th career win versus Fan and enters the bout off the back of a stunning first-round finish of MMA legend Yushin Okami last month.
The victory put Aung La N Sang’s two-fight skid aside and served up some much-needed confidence as he plans out his path toward redemption. After all, the Myanmar athlete wants to avenge his losses to Reinier de Ridder, who stripped him of his middleweight and light heavyweight gold in 2021.
Fan, however, will be no slouch standing across from him on the night. The 19-3 battler reflects mirroring results, having also fought ONE Middleweight World Champion de Ridder and former champ Vitaly Bigdash under the ONE banner.
The Chinese scrapper is a deadly opponent for any middleweight, holding six knockouts and 11 submissions, which highlight his ability to not only strike but grapple.
Much like Aung La N Sang before him, “King Kong Warrior” will be itching to get back to winning ways after tasting defeat against Bigdash, where he found himself riding a two-fight winning streak before the penultimate loss to the Russian.
Fan’s prowess has long made him a threat to fellow middleweights, and a win over the likes of Aung La N Sang will solidify him once again as a top contender in the division.
Catch these two middleweights in action at ONE Fight Night 6 on Saturday, 14 January, at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
