The first ONE Championship event of 2023 will feature a middleweight mixed martial arts match between former two-division champion Aung La "The Burmese Python" N Sang and Chinese superstar "King Kong Warrior" Fan Rong.

The match is scheduled for ONE on Prime Video 6: Superbon vs. Allazov, which airs live on Friday, January 13, at prime time in the United States from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.

Aung La N Sang, a longtime fan favourite, enters the fight with 28 professional wins, the most recent of which was a stunning first-round knockout of Japanese MMA legend Yushin Okami at ONE 163 in November.

A victory for "The Burmese Python" would put him on the right road for the trilogy fight he so desperately desires with Reinier de Ridder, the current ONE Middleweight World Champion, who won the middleweight and light heavyweight titles of the legendary sports figure from Myanmar.

The deadly finisher Fan, who has only lost a handful of times in his career, will give the 37-year-old veteran his hands full.

Fan, a terrific athlete with a remarkable 19-3 professional record and an 89 percent finishing rate, trains at the Longyun MMA Gym. He is a genuine challenge for any middleweight on the planet, having both knockout power on the feet and submission ability on the ground.

The Chinese sensation had racked up two victories on the international arena before dropping his most recent fight to former ONE Middleweight World Champion Vitaly Bigdash, and he appeared to be blazing a road to the top of the category.

Fan is seeking retribution against De Ridder, who defeated "King Kong Warrior" in their promotional debuts back in January 2019. Fan is similar to his opponent in this regard.
