Former ONE Championship two-division champion Aung La N Sang got back to winning ways at ONE 163 after securing a quick first-round finish of Japanese MMA icon Yushin Okami.
The Myanmar icon caught the Japanese legend with a knee to the face as he lunged for the legs while trying to go for early takedowns. The middleweight fight was eventually stopped by the referee after "The Burmese Python" attacked on his opponent from atop the ropes with strikes.
This was the first fight of Aung La after his loss to Vitaly Bigdash. The Burmese Python was vocal about how he wants to capture the ONE Middleweight title back and with the win over Okami, he seems to be on the right path towards the title.
The former champion currently holds a record of 28-13 to his name and is 2-3 in his last five fights. He lost two back-to-back fights to Reinier De Ridder and dropped the ONE Middleweight and ONE Lightweight title belts.

Aung La then bounced back strongly with a win over Leandro Ataides but was met with a loss against his long-standing rival Vitaly Bigdash.
In one of his interviews prior to his fight against Okami, Aung La noted that he would require one year to recapture the ONE Middleweight title. Though the win against Okami seems to have put Aung La in the right direction, he will have to add on to the same if he is to dethrone De Ridder who has been dominating his challengers.
