Indian wrestlers showcased their prowess at the 19th Asian Games, bringing home a total of six medals - one silver and five bronze. The Lin'an Sports Culture & Exhibition Centre in Hangzhou set the stage for intense wrestling action, featuring competitors from across the continent.
In the men's 86kg freestyle division, Olympian Deepak Punia emerged as the star of the Indian wrestling contingent, securing a silver medal. Despite fierce competition, Punia displayed exceptional skill and determination, making his way to the final and narrowly missing the gold.
Two-time Asian Games medallist Bajrang Punia, competing in the men's 65kg category, couldn't defend his title but demonstrated commendable sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
