Chatri Sityodtong reveals new update about Arjan Bhullar vs. Anatoly Malykhin

On July 15, which is July 14 in the United States, a fight for the ONE heavyweight championship will be fought between Arjan Bhullar and Anatoly Malykhin.

When speaking to MMA Fighting on Monday, ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong verified the information. The event, known as ONE Fight Night 12, will air on Amazon Prime Video in the United States.

The fight was originally set for March, but it had to be moved "due to a shift in broadcaster commitments," which compelled the promotion to change its plans. The heavyweight title match will now take place this summer.

Since defeating Brandon Vera in a knockout in 2021 to claim the heavyweight championship, Bhullar has not competed in the ONE Championship. Although being supposed to make a comeback in September of last year, Bhullar was forced to withdraw due to an injury.

Bhullar, who is now back to full health, aims to extend his current four-fight winning streak, which includes two victories in the UFC before he left the promotion to accept a free agent contract with ONE.

“It’s going to happen officially now July 15. That’s the word that I got just literally a few hours ago.” Sityodtong told MMA Fighting.

Malykhin, who is unbeaten, will try to maintain his momentum after winning the interim ONE heavyweight championship in 2022. He then moved up to light heavyweight, where he brutally knocked out Reinier de Ridder to win another title.

He presently has a career finishing percentage of 100% and a record of 12-0.

The location of the Bhullar vs. Malykhin bout is still unknown, but the heavyweights now know that they will face off in July.
