ONE Strawweight champion Xiong Jingnan has her eyes set on the ONE atomweight division. Jingnan opened up about the same during the post-fight interviews which happened at ONE on Prime Video 2.
The Chinese MMA star successfully defended her title against Angela Lee at the event and now, she is planning to do something that no one has ever done before, beating Angela Lee at Atomweight in ONE Championship.
“This time she came into my territory. Guess what? Next time I’m coming to her weight class,” she said during the media interaction.
She also went on to add that she is ready to fight Angela Lee again and added that she will win all those fights.
The champion also suggested having a Grand Prix to determine the next Strawweight title contender.
“It’s the fighters’ job to earn the opportunity to fight me. [A Grand Prix] would be fair for me and all the girls on the roster. Let the promotion decide who’s next. Whoever it is I hope they earn it and deserve it,” she added.
Jingnan is currently 18-2 in her professional MMA career. She has been unstoppable in the ONE Strawweight division and is on a four-fight winning streak at the moment. Her last loss, interestingly, came against Angela Lee back in 2019 but it was at Atomweight.
The only other loss in Jingnan’s career came back in 2015 when she lost via a decision to Collen Schneider. The 34-year-old has fought 10 fights under the ONE Championship banner and has won 9 of them.
