Vaibhav Shetty appointed as Chairman of WBC Muay-Thai South East Asia Committee

Indian fighter and promoter Vaibhav Shetty has been appointed as the chairman of the newly formed WBC Muay-Thai South East Asia Committee.

Vaibhav, who has been heading WBC Muay-Thai India for some time now, will now have the responsibility for countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Thailand as part of his new role.

Vaibhav is an established name in the combat sports circuit in India as well having competed across MMA, Grappling, Kickboxing, and Boxing. He has represented India multiple times at the IMMAF World Championship and is also the first-ever WKN India titleholder.

Vaibhav recently secured himself a spot in the WBC India Rankings for Boxing as well and is currently placed 10th in the Cruiserweight rankings. Most recently, he also secured four medals at the SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship which was held in Texas back in October.

The WBC Muay-Thai India team has been actively working in India since its inception. The team also crowned the inaugural WBC Muay-Thai India champion recently at Fraggingmonk Fight Night 2 when Surya Sagar stopped Basavesh in the main event to capture the title.
