UFC returned with UFC Vegas 34 today. The event was headlined by the Middleweight bout between Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum.
Cannonier started on a strong note in the first round and was setting up punches with his front kick which Gastelum found hard to contain. Though Gastelum went for multiple combos in the second round it was Cannonier that had the better outing in the round. It was a similar story in the third round and fourth round which piled up the pressure on Gastelum to produce a finish in the fifth. Gastelum, however, failed to produce the same which in turn gave a comfortable win for Cannonier.
In the co-main event, Mark Madsen and Clay Guida went the distance. Madsen and Guida delivered an excellent show for the fans and in the end, the fight was ruled in favor of Madsen via a split decision. Parker Porter pushed Chase Sherman to the distance as well in their Heavyweight clash and came out with a comfortable unanimous decision win.
In the opening bout of the main card, Alexandre Pantoja got a second-round submission over Brandon Royval when Vinc Pichel and Saidyokub Kakhramonov also picked up wins in the fights that followed. You can check out the complete results from the event below.
