UFC Vegas 3 Full Results: Blaydes gets dominant decision win over Volkov

UFC returned this week with UFC Vegas 3 which was headlined by the heavyweight showdown between Curtis Blaydes and Alexander Volkov.

Blaydes and Volkov proved to be a slow burner with Blaydes making use of his wrestling skills to neutralize Volkov throughout the fight.

Blaydes managed to land a record 12 takedowns in total by the end of the fourth round after which Volkov slightly took the momentum in his favour in the ending seconds of the fourth round with a takedown of his own. He, however, failed to carry it to the fifth round as Blaydes once again managed to get things to the ground half-way through the round and steer it to the end; as a result, getting a comfortable unanimous decision victory.  

Josh Emmet and Shane Burgos had a full-blown war in the co-main event. The fighters delivered an action-packed three-rounds which, in the end, went in favour of Emmett via a unanimous decision.

Raquel Pennington got a win on her resume at the expense of Mario Reneau as she steered through the three rounds to get a decision victory. Elsewhere, Belal Muhammad also had a decision win on the main card when Jim Miller produced a submission in the first round itself to win his showdown with Roosevelt Roberts.

In the prelims, Tecia Torres secured a decision win when Lauren Murphy managed to get the better of Roxanne Modafferi in a fight that went the distance. The featured prelim saw Bobby Green securing a huge win against Clay Guida. The fight went the distance much to the surprise of many with Green getting scores in his favour.
