UFC rolled out UFC Vegas 22 today from the UFC Apex and the event was headlined by a Middleweight showdown between Derek Brunson and Kevin Holland.
The main event proved to be an entertaining affair. A slip in the first-round from Holland gave Brunson the slight upper hand but Holland bounced back strongly in the second and managed to wobble Brunson at one point.
The Superior grappling skills of Brunson, however, helped him to close the round strongly. Brunson managed to spend a lot of time in the top position in the third round as well. Although Holland tried to change the tide in the fourth, Brunson landed another takedown just two minutes into the round and got a dominant position. The fifth round saw a twist in the tale as Holland managed to land a takedown in the second minute. Despite the success, Holland failed to make a huge impact with the same and suffered a unanimous decision loss.
The co-main event saw Max Griffin stop Song Kenan in the first-round. With the win, Griffin extended his winning streak to two and improved his professional record to 17-8.
Montserrat Ruiz and Cheyanne Buys delivered an excellent three-round bout that had plenty of action. In the end, it was Montserrat that had the edge on the scorecard of the judges and took home a unanimous decision victory.
In the main card opener, Tai Tuivasa knocked out Harry Hunsucker in the first-round. Adrian Yanez also got a knockout victory when he stopped Gustavo Lopez in the third round. You can see the full results from the event below.
