UFC returned with UFC 263 this weekend and saw Israel Adesanya retaining the UFC Middleweight title in the main event.

Marvin Vettori managed to land a huge takedown in the first round of the main event only to see Adesanya taking things back to the standing position sometime later. Adesanya then steered the fight with some exceptional striking through the second round but Vettori managed to land another takedown just seconds into the third round.

The scramble on the ground ended in an eye poke from Adesanya. The Fourth Round remained on standup with Adesanya having the better time despite a couple of take-down attempts from Vettori. The fifth round went in the books with a similar story and in the end, Adesanya managed to get the win via a decision.

Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno delivered action from the first round itself. Moreno relying on his grappling skills to put away Figueiredo was the major storyline for the fight and Moreno succeeded finally in the third round when he made Figueiredo tap out with a rear-naked choke to become the new UFC Flyweight Champion.

Nate Diaz and Leon Edwards delivered an exciting five-round fight just ahead of the co-main event. It was Leon Edwards that was on the driving seat throughout with Nate showing explosive bursts every now and then. Nate had his moments in the closing minutes of the final round when he wobbled Edwards with a big punch. Edwards, however, survived the onslaught to get a comfortable decision win.

The main card opener between Paul Craig and Jamahal Hill went in favor of Craig after Hill suffered a nasty dislocation of his arm. With the win, Craig improved his winning streak to three when Jamahal Hill added the first-ever loss to his professional MMA resume.

Belal Muhammad got the biggest win of his career when he defeated Demian Maia. Belal came into the fight on the back of the No Contest showdown against Leon Edwards and managed to bounce back strongly. The fight went the complete distance and it was ruled in favor of Belal by the judges.

Brad Riddell got the better of Drew Dober in the featured prelims showdown when Eryk Anders and Lauren Murphy also picked up wins. You can see the complete results from the event below.
