Ritu Phogat to fight Meng Bo at ONE Championship Atomweight Grand Prix in May

Indian MMA star Ritu Phogat is all set to fight Meng Bo in the Quarter Finals of the ONE Championship Atomweight Grand Prix. The announcement was made by ONE Championship today through their social media pages.

Ritu currently has a professional record of 4-0 to her name and had been vocal about eventually winning the ONE Atomweight title and had expressed her interest in competing in the ONE Atomweight Grand Prix earlier. Her last win came against Jomary Torres back in December 2020 and prior to that, she had secured wins over Nou Srey Pov, Chen Wu, and Nam Hee Kim.

Meng Bo, on the other hand, comes in with a wealth of experience. She currently holds a professional record of 17-5 to her name and is riding high on a seven-fight winning streak and has not lost a fight since 2017. She defeated Samara Santos in her last outing and prior to that, had defeated Priscilla Gaol as well.

Earlier announcements indicated that the first-round matchups will happen on May 28, 2021, and the winner of the tournament will get a shot at ONE Atomweight champion Angela Lee as well. You can see the complete quarter-final matchups for the tournament below.
