Puja Tomar has been a mainstay in ONE Championship for quite some time now.

The Indian MMA Fighter has put up some impressive fights in the promotion and now, with the world in lockdown due to COVID-19 outbreak, Puja Tomar took out sometime time to list out her top five sports movies in an interview with ONE Championship.

Dangal top Puja’s list of Top 5 Sports Movies and she noted that it felt like her story.

“Dangal‘s story feels like my story, too. My sisters and I emerged from a small village as well. We also had a joint family, and our relatives were not very supportive [of our goals and dreams],” Puja said.

Interestingly, Dangal is based on the family of Puja’s fellow ONE Championship fighter Ritu Phogat as well.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Kung Fu Hustle, and Shaolin Soccer also found a place in Puja’s list which was rounded up by Kung Fu Panda. She also pointed out that Shaolin Soccer teaches us to be respectful.

“Shaolin Soccer teaches us to be respectful to one another in martial arts. To be a good martial artist, one should be hardworking, as well as patient. All these things were shown in a very good manner. There are so many things in this movie that I have practised in wushu. You can see several things related to other forms of martial arts in this film,” she said.

The multiple-time National Wushu Champion is currently sitting on a defeat against Stamp Fairtex. She suffered a first-round TKO defeat against Stamp back in January 2020 and the Indian MMA fans would be eager to see her back in the cage soon.

Puja’s last win in ONE championship came last year against Priscilla Goal and replicating the same in her next outing would be a huge boost for the Indian fighter.
