Ok Rae Yoon selected as the ONE Championship 2021 Male MMA fighter of the year
ONE Lightweight World Champion Ok Rae Yoon has been selected as the ONE Championship 2021 Male MMA Fighter of the year. The announcement was made by ONE Championship last day on their website.
Impressive promotional debut in April
The South Korean interestingly made his entry into ONE Championship back in April 2021 and went on to produce some memorable performances which ended in a title victory. The first encounter for Ok in the promotion came against Marat Gafurov at ONE on TNT II on 21 April and though the fight went the complete distance, it was a unanimous decision win for Ok.

The win against Gafurov gave Ok a fight against former UFC Champion and one of the biggest names in the Lightweight division, Eddie Alvarez. Ok made most of the opportunity and outclassed Alvarez to get another unanimous decision victory which fast-tracked him to a title shot against Christian Lee.
Interestingly, the win against Alvarez was also the fourth straight win for Ok in his career and it kept him undefeated in ONE Championship as well.
Winning the title
Ok went into the fight with Lee as an underdog but proved everyone wrong. Ok and Lee went the complete distance and delivered an exciting five-round bout which saw Ok picking up the win in the end via a unanimous decision. The title win cemented Ok’s spot on top of the ONE Lightweight division and the best part is: the ONE Championship journey of Ok has only started.
