Matrix Fight Night 9: Sanjeet Budhwar vs. Dorde Stojanović headlines, fight card

Matrix Fight Night is all set to return with Matrix Fight Night 9 on 24 June 2022 in Delhi. The event will be headlined by an international bout between Sanjeet Budhwar and Dorde Stojanović at Catchweight.

Sanjeet has been a mainstay in the promotion for a long time now and holds a record of 7-2 to his name. The Haryana native is coming off a win against Dhruv Chaudhary and is 3-2 in the promotion with wins over Dhruv, Chaitanya Gavali, and Shyamanand. Stojanović, meanwhile, will be making his promotional debut and holds a record of 5-1 to his name.

Elsewhere, Seth Rosario and Zahoor Shah will be in action in a super fight. Zahoor is coming off a huge KO win against Srikant Sekhar and will be looking to pile on the momentum while Seth will be looking to avenge the loss of his training partner.

Manipur’s Jojo Rajkumari is set to fight Mary Jane Buna in an international bout and this will serve as the co-main event of MFN 9. Srikant Sekhar will be eager to bounce back from his recent loss as he goes up against Sumeet Khade who is also coming off a loss.

Puja Tomar vs. Tenzin Pema and Angad Bisht vs. Himanshu Kaushik will round up the main card. Former ONE Championship star, Himanshu will be making his promotional debut with the fight as well.

The undercard will see a long list of fresh names in action. Nagaland’s Imkongsunep Jamir was scheduled to fight Sahil Rana who had fought Clinton DCruz in MFN recently. However, Sahil suffered an injury due to which Kapil Kumar stepped up on short notice to fight the Naga MMA star. Imkong comes with plenty of experience on his resume and is one of the few Indian fighters to win at the IMMAF World Championship. 

Elsewhere, multiple-time national champion and GAMMA Asian Championship medallist Arsenba Ozukum of Nagaland will fight Bishwamitra of Manipur in a Flyweight bout on the undercard. Abhishek Negi will be looking to make a statement when he goes up against Avizo Lanamai who will be making his promotional debut alongside his teammates Imkongsunep Jamir and Arsenba Ozukum.

The Lightweight bout between Digamber Singh Rawat and Prakram Dandona will complete the fight card.
