Ukrainian Kickboxing World Champion Maksym Kagal died last day in Ukraine while battling the Russian forces in the siege of Mariupol.
“Unfortunately, the war takes the best. On 25 March, while defending the city of Mariupol as part of the Azov Separate Special Forces Unit, Maksym Kagal died. Sleep well, Brother, rest in peace, we will avenge you,” posted his coach Oleg Skirta on Facebook last day.
The 30-year-old, who hailed from Kremenchug, had won the World Kickboxing Championship ISKA back in 2014.

The death of Kagal happened amidst the bombing of a theatre in the city which saw the death of more than 300 people. Mariupol is currently fighting a squadron of 25 Russian bombers as per reports.

Last day, two Russian sporting federations including the Russian Boxing Federation had come in support of Russia’s actions claiming that the invasion was a special military operation.

Maksym Kagal, ISKA kickboxing champion, was killed in the battle for the besieged city Mariupol, his coach reported.
