The MMA India Team which is set to participate at the IMMAF World Championships 2021 in Abu Dhabi will be meeting with the Ambassador of India to UAE his excellency Shri Sunjay Sudhir on 22 January 2022, two days ahead of the World Championships.
The Indian Contingent will meet the Ambassador at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi. India will be sending a strong team for the World Championship this year with 15 athletes from across the nation representing.
The team was selected through the MMA India Nationals which were held in the past year in Lucknow and Indore. The athletes are currently undergoing training in two batches with one batch training in Thailand while the other batch is training in Hyderabad under Coaches Shaik Khalid and Vikram Nagaraj.
Apart from the athletes which include former IMMAF Junior World Champion Mahboob Khan, a strong technical team will also be heading to the World Championship including international referees, physios, and nutritionists as we reported earlier. The team has received support through sponsorship from Venky’s and Aeropostale. Aeropostale will be providing the team with backpacks.
