Team Lakay star Lito Adiwang suffered a loss against Jarred Brooks back at ONE: Next Gen III back in November. The loss not only broke the winning streak of the Filipino star but it also derailed his rise to the top of the ONE Strawweight division.

Following his loss to Brooks, Adiwang is now set to make his return at ONE X when he fights fellow Filipino fighter Jeremy Miado. While the focus of Adiwang is on Miado, he is hopeful of getting a rematch with Brooks soon.

“I’m hoping that I’ll deliver and get the victory [over Miado]. After this fight, I will try to chase Jarred Brooks for that rematch. For now, I’d like that to happen more than fighting for the [strawweight] belt because a lot of people doubted me and looked down on me after that fight,” Adiwang noted [via tiebreaktertimes].

He also went on to detail what went wrong in the fight with Brooks.

“Yes, I must admit that the pressure got into me because that’s my first major fight at ONE Championship. I was surprised with how big the moment was. It’s like you know your moves, but you’re late by one step in executing them,” he added.

While concluding, Adiwang added that a win against Brooks will prove his doubters wrong.

“Once I win, then I’ll prove the doubters wrong. But once I lose, I’ll accept my limitations. However, I’ll make sure that I will win the second time around,” he concluded.

Adiwang currently holds a professional MMA record of 13-4 to his name and will be looking to get back into the Strawweight top five mix when he fights Miado at ONE X.
