The much-awaited Leverage X has been postponed. The announcement was made by the Leverage Fight Night team through their social media channels last day.

You can see the statement from the Leverage team below.

“Given the current circumstances of the global pandemic and the closure of gyms across the country, we are taking a decision to postpone the tournament to the month of May- towards the end of the month.

We are trying to do our best to provide a date for the tournament to all the athletes and our supporters.

It is our duty to provide the best possible spectacle and the highest level of competition for the athletes and viewers alike.

As before, we are again in a situation where very little is in our control and we hope we have the support of the athletes and teams as we figure this out. Watch this space for further updates”

The event was scheduled to take place on 1 May 2021 in Delhi after initially being postponed from April. The team had also released a stacked bracket for the tournament. It would be interesting to see whether there will be changes in the same once the new dates are announced.

The Leverage team had hosted Leverage Fight Night IX back in back in December 2020. The 16-main grappling tournament was under submission-only single-elimination EBI rules and saw Aman Gussain of Warrior’s COVE MMA emerging as the winner.

Aman made quick work of his Warrior’s Cove MMA teammate Peeyush Pandey in the finals via an inside heel hook and concluded his run which saw him pick wins over Prashanth Kota, Debojit Dasgupta, and teammate Raajus Dewan. With the win, he took home the cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh and the title belt.
