Leverage Fight Night IX: Raajus Dewan replaces Chaitanya Gavali

Leverage Fight Night IX tournament bracket has undergone a major change. Chaitanya Gavali will not be competing at the tournament due to scheduling conflicts and will now be replaced with Raajus Dewan who trains out of Warrior’s COVE MMA.

Chaitanya is scheduled to fight at Matrix Fight Night 5 on December 15 in Dubai against Sanjeet Budhwar. With Leverage Fight Night IX set to happen on December 18 in India, the schedule was bound to put Chaitanya in a tight spot if he was to compete in both the events.

Raajus comes into the tournament on the back of a two-year experience in BJJ and is a blue belt under Ashwin Hoon. He will be locking horns with Punyajit Likharu in the opening bracket of the tournament. The remaining bracket of the tournament will not be undergoing any changes as of now.

Leverage Fight Night IX is set to happen on December 18, 2020, in Delhi and will feature sixteen grapplers from across the nation. The single-elimination submission-only tournament will have a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh up for grabs as well.
