Khamzat Chimaev makes quick return, will fight Rhys McKee at Fight Island

Khamzat Chimaev is all set to make a quick return back to the Octagon. He has been booked to fight Rhys McKee at UFC on ESPN 14 in the UFC Fight Island on Saturday, 26 July 2020.

Chimaev made his UFC debut last week against John Phillips and went home with a dominant submission win. After the fight, Dana White had also hinted at the possibility of Chimaev fighting soon and now, it has been made official.

Undefeated with a record of 7-0 to his name, Chimaev fights out of Allstars Training Center in Sweden and was competing in BRAVE Combat Federation prior to his entry into the UFC.

Mckee, meanwhile, comes into the fight with a professional record of 10-2 to his name and is riding on high momentum after securing three straight finishes at Cage Warriors.

UFC on ESPN 14 will be headlined by the Middleweight showdown between former champion Robert Whittaker and Darren Till while Mauricio Rua vs. Antonio Nogueira will serve as the co-main event.

Fabricio Werdum will be locking horns with Chimaev’s teammate and former title contender Alexander Gustafsson on the same card.
