The rise of Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC has been unmatched. The undefeated star currently holds a professional MMA record of 10-0 to his name with all his wins coming via finishes. He is now sitting on a first-round TKO win over Jingliang Li at UFC 267 and is expected to fight Gilbert Burns next at Welterweight.
Though Khamzat is fighting at Welterweight, he has history at Middleweight, and recently, following the title defense of Israel Adesanya against Robert Whittaker, Khamzat had called out Adesanya.

Khamzat said that Adesanya is easy money for him in a tweet. In a recent interview, the UFC middleweight champion reacted to this callout.
“I respect like his last fight. He showed what’s up. The guy (Khamzat Chimaev) fought Li Jing Liang was like a legit contender. But his next fight, Gilbert Burns, is a guy who will really test him. But I think that might be a harder fight for him than people think. Also, it an easier fight for him than people think. I think Khamzat, from what I am hearing he is really good. He’s not even my weight class, so why I gotta pay this guy any attention? Until he does something that makes me take notice that I am like okay now, I have to take him seriously. For the moment, he is just barking in the wind. It’s like when the dog barks at the moon is normal,” Adesanya said during his appearance on The Brilliant Idiots podcast (h/t Essentially Sports).
