Julianna Pena produced a huge upset at UFC 269 when she submitted Amanda Nunes to become the new UFC Bantamweight champion. The Venezuelan Vixen currently holds a record of 11-4 to her name with the win and is eager to be back in action soon.
Speaking after her win against Nunes, Pena noted that she is open to rematches with Nunes, Germaine de Randamie, and Valentina Shevchenko.
“I would like to go down and rematch Valentina Shevchenko. I would love to get that rematch against Germaine de Randamie. I would love a rematch, if that’s what she wants, against Amanda. Right now, I just want to soak it all in,” Pena said after the win [h/t MMA Fighting].
When speaking about the rematch with Shevchenko, Pena further added that it would be great to be a two-division champion in the UFC.
“We can rematch at 135 pounds if she wants to do that, but whatever the company decides. It would be great to be a two-division champion, even to go down to 125 and face Valentina down there. Right now, I just want to soak in the moment of being a champion,” she added.
Pena and Shevchenko last fought back in 2017 and it was Shevchenko that came out on top with a second-round submission win. Pena has gone on to win three matches after this loss and also suffered a defeat against Germaine de Randamie in between.
