Joshua Pacio stops Yosuke Saruta at ONE Revolution to retain the World Title

The trilogy showdown between Joshua Pacio and Yosuke Saruta happened at ONE: Revolution today and the ONE Strawweight title was on the line in the match as well.

The fight proved to be a short one as Pacio managed to get a finish in the first round itself. Pacio dropped Saruta towards the end of the first round after a cautious battle in the opening minutes. After dropping Saruta, Pacio went on to land a string of shots which forced the referee to stop the fight and give the win to the Team Lakay star. 

Joshua Pacio came into the title defense on the back of three back-to-back wins. He defeated Alex Silva, Rene Catalan, and Yosuke Saruta during this run, and interestingly, Saruta was also the last fighter to defeat Pacio in their match which happened back in 2019 at ONE: Eternal Glory.

Saruta, on the other hand, had secured two wins after his loss to Pacio. He defeated Daichi Kitakata and Yoshitaka Naito before getting a title shot at ONE: Revolution.

ONE Revolution was the latest offering from ONE Championship after ONE: Empower which was an all-women fight card from the promotion. ONE Revolution was headlined by three title fights with Christian Lee defending his Lightweight World Title against Ok Rae Yoon when Capitan went up against Mehdi Zatout in a Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title Fight.

Joshua Pacio vs. Yosuke Saruta for the ONE Strawweight title was the third title fight on offer at the event which also had Martin Nguyen, Amir Aliakbari, Victoria Lee, and many others on the card.
