UFC champion Jon Jones arrested for DWI and Firearm charges

UFC champion Jon Jones has once again landed in trouble. Jones was arrested yesterday by the Albuquerque police for driving while under the influence and negligent use of a firearm.

According to the officers, Jones showed signs of intoxication while also having a handgun and bottle of liquor with him.

“As part of the investigation into this incident, our Gun Violence Reduction Unit will test the firearm and bullet casing to determine whether the gun has been used in any crimes. Reducing gun violence in Albuquerque is our top priority,” an Albuquerque police spokesperson said.

The incident is, unfortunately, the latest addition to the long list of issues that Jon Jones has run into. The reigning UFC Light Heavyweight champion last fought in the UFC back in February when he defended his title successfully against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.
