An exciting Flyweight contest between Joanne Wood and Alexa Grasso has been added to the UFC Columbus card by the UFC.
UFC returns to Columbus, Ohio for the first time in 13 years with a thrilling light heavyweight contenders’ battle that will see former champion and No. 1 ranked Jan Blachowicz take on surging No. 3 Aleksandar Rakic. In a clash of top flyweights, No. 2 ranked contender Askar Askarov faces No. 6 Kai Kara-France in a matchup with title implications.
The matchup between Wood and Grasso will be another major attraction on the card. Currently ranked seventh in the Women’s Flyweight division, Wood holds a professional MMA record of 15-7 to her name and fights out of Glasgow, Scotland. She is currently going through a slow run and suffered two back-to-back losses. Her last win came against Jessica Eye back at UFC 257.
Alexa Grasso, on the other hand, is ranked eleventh in the division and holds a record of 13-3 to her name. Fighting out of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Grasso is on a two-fight winning streak at the moment. She secured wins against Maycee Barber and Ji Yeon Kim in her last two fights and had suffered a loss to Carla Esparza prior to that.
Apart from the showdown between Grasso and Wood, the card will also feature some other exciting WMMA. Amanda Ribas will go up against Michelle Waterson when Sara McMann will fight Karol Rosa. What are your predictions for the event? Let us know in the comment section of the article below.
