A strawweight bout between Amanda Ribas and Michelle Waterson has been announced for UFC Columbus.
UFC returns to Columbus, Ohio for the first time in 13 years with a thrilling light heavyweight contenders’ battle that will see former champion and No. 1 ranked Jan Blachowicz take on surging No. 3 Aleksandar Rakic. In a clash of top flyweights, No. 2 ranked contender Askar Askarov faces No. 6 Kai Kara-France in a matchup with title implications.
Ranked eighth in the Strawweight division, Michelle Waterson currently holds a record of 18-9 to her name and fights out of Albuquerque. Waterson is coming off a loss against Marina Rodriguez and had won against Angela Hill prior to this. Waterson is currently 2-3 in her last five fights having won against Karolina Kowalkiewicz as well.
Amanda Ribas currently holds a record of 11-2 to her name. The Brazilian is coming off a win against Virna Jandiroba and lost to Marina Rodriguez back at UFC 257. She was on an impressive five-fight winning streak prior to this loss against Rodriguez with wins over Mackenzie Dern, Randa Markos, and Paige VanZant among others.
Apart from the showdown between Waterson and Ribas, the card will also feature a Flyweight showdown between Joanne Wood and Alexa Grasso. Sara McMann will fight Karol Rosa as well in another WMMA Fight on the card.
