Valentina Shevchenko has been unstoppable in the UFC Flyweight division. A lot of discussions are currently going on about the potential dangers for Shevchenko in the division and one name that features in almost all those discussions is Manon Fiorot.
The French MMA star is currently 8-1 in her professional career and is a former IMMAF Champion during her run in the amateur circuit. Fiorot has been a force to reckon with in the UFC and is undefeated in the promotion as well.
Despite her dominance, UFC Commentator and fighter Paul Felder feel that Fiorot is not ready for Shevchenko. Felder gave his take on the recent episode of Fighter vs. Writer on MMA Fighting and said that Valentina is levels above all her contenders in the Flyweight division.
“I think there is quite a few contenders who if given enough time could be the next biggest challenge but this year, no, she is levels above and it takes years to close that gap, or the titleholder ages a bit or she becomes a little complacent. But she is not right now,” Felder said.
He further went on to break down the game of Fiorot and said that she needs to fill her gaps before she can step inside the cage with Shevchenko.
“I don’t see her going anywhere. We could be eating our own words. The French girl [Manon Fiorot] is really good too but she is not ready. I saw her last fight and she was throwing the same combination again and again and you do that against Shevchenko, and you are going to get knocked out. Even as powerful you are and no matter how good your karate is, you go out there and you throw the same thing to her, she is going to figure that out and smoke you,” Felder said.
