Jihin Radzuan plans to stop Denice Zamboanga in the second round

Press Release
05 December 2019

Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan does not want her match with Denice “The Menace Fairtex” Zamboanga on 6 December at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur at ONE: MARK OF GREATNESS to go to the judges’ scorecards.

The Wushu World Champion and MIMMA Women’s Champion currently holds a professional record of 5-1, where three of those victories have come from finishes. She plans to yield the same result in her upcoming bout against Zamboanga.

“Of course, I want to end it as fast as possible. But when you get a tough opponent, that might not happen,” she said.

Zamboanga will be “Shadow Cat’s” third Filipina opponent this year.

She suffered a close split-decision loss to Gina Iniong in February and made Jomary Torres tap out in the first round with a Triangle-Choke in July.  Radzuan’s hard work in training and the support she expects to receive from her countrymen give her enough confidence that she can end the match quickly.

“My prediction is that I will finish this by the second round - either through knockout or submission,” she added. “One thing is for sure, I do not want to leave it to the judges’ scorecards.”

The Malaysian has also been studying Zamboanga and the possible strategy “The Menace Fairtex” has planned out for her.

“I read an article on her saying that she does not see any weaknesses in my striking, and she also thinks that my grappling game is quite impressive. The one thing which caught my eye is that she said her wrestling is better than mine. That leads me to believe that she would want to make it a ground bout.”

With days to go until the event, Radzuan has finalized her preparations to get the finish she wants at home in Kuala Lumpur.
