He is not really relevant right now: Israel Adesanya ignores Khamzat challenge

Israel Adesanya had a successful title defense against Robert Whittaker this past weekend at UFC 271. One of the post-fight reactions that made headlines after the event was that of Khamzat Chimaev.

The undefeated UFC Star claimed that Adesanya was easy money for him and added that he could finish the Middleweight champion.

Adesanya has now responded to the claim from Chimaev and said that he is really not relevant at this point in time.

“I mean, he’s not really relevant right now. I don’t have to take him seriously till I have to take him seriously. Like his last fight, I was impressed with. I was like, yo, that guy is good, but you know there are levels, so we’ll see how he does with Gilbert. He can beat a lot of middleweights. I’ll tell you that much. A lot of little top-level middleweights, but I don’t have to take him seriously till I have to take him seriously,” Adesanya said during his recent interview with Ariel Helwani (h/t EssentiallySports).

Adesanya is currently undefeated at Middleweight and has been reigning on top of the division for a long time now. Khamzat, on the other hand, is undefeated in his professional MMA career and has finished all of his UFC fights so far.
