ONE Championship Fire and Fury: Gina Iniong secures decision win over Asha Roka

The fight between Gina Iniong and Asha Roka at ONE Championship Fire and Fury ended in favour of the Philippines star as she picked up a decision win over her Indian counterpart.

Gina was successful in neutralizing the knockout power of Asha with her grappling which turned out to be crucial for the win. The Team Lakay star relied heavily on her grappling skills throughout the three rounds and gave no space for Asha to get an upper hand.

With the win, Gina is currently sitting on a two-fight winning streak having won against Jihin Radzuan earlier in 2019. Asha, meanwhile, has suffered two losses in her last two fights as she had earlier lost to Stamp Fairtex.

It would be interesting to see what would be next for Asha Roka as the Indian MMA community will be eagerly awaiting her return to the cage. The next outing for India at ONE Championship will be this month itself as Ritu Phogat will be making her return at ONE: King of the Jungle. Ritu will be fighting China’s Wu Chiao Chen at the event and will be looking to make it two wins in a row having won her debut.

Elsewhere, Gina might be going behind the Atomweight championship which is currently with Angela Lee.

As for the rest of the card, Joshua Pacio managed to retain his title at the via a split decision in the main event against Alex Silva. Pieter Buist produced a huge upset at the event when he got a win over Eduard Folayang in the co-main event as well.
