Conor McGregor could be on his way back to the boxing ring. The Irish MMA star noted in a tweet last day that he is boxing Manny Pacquiao in the Middle East next.
“I’m boxing Manny Pacquiao next in the Middle East.” He tweeted.
McGregor also revealed on Twitter that he had requested Dana White for a fight against Diego Sanchez back in February before the COVID-19 Pandemic hit.
“To Diego Sanchez... I seen your recent comments about your final bout and I am in! After you fought Pereira, I had requested for myself and you to compete in Dublin. This was back in February when I was working on opposition for my season, pre covid. Good luck this weekend!,” he added on twitter.
The former UFC champion added screenshots of his chat with Dana White as well along with the above tweet. McGregor went onto further add that he never turned down an offer to fight Tony Ferguson as well.
“Pre covid. Pre retirement. Never turned down offer of Tony as was suggested at the time. I stated months in advance (early February) that I was not interested in being an alternate for two consistent pullouts. Pushed for my own scheduled bouts,” he stated further on Twitter.
McGregor’s last outing in boxing came against Floyd Mayweather in a blockbuster showdown which broke multiple records. It would be interesting to see whether his fight with Manny Pacquiao materializes or whether this will go down as just another tweet from the former champion.
