Colby Covington vs. Tyron Woodley has been verbally agreed by both parties as per ESPN MMA. Woodley posted on his Instagram as well that he is about to start a camp for the fight and that he will ‘squash’ Covington when they meet in the cage.

UFC is, however, yet to confirm the fight but the showdown is expected to happen in September in Las Vegas. Covington is currently sitting on the defeat that he suffered against Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman back at UFC 245. He was on a seven-fight undefeated streak prior to the defeat to Usman.

Woodley, meanwhile, is on a two-fight losing streak having suffered defeats against Usman and Gilbert Burns. Both defeats came via decisions and prior to this, he was also undefeated in seven fights which include a draw against Stephen Thompson.

The rivalry between Woodley and Covington dates long back as both the fighters used to train together at American Top Team. Covington had campaigned hard to get a shot at Woodley for a long time but the fight did not materialize due to one reason or the other. UFC had tried to book the fight for August as well but Woodley was not medically cleared for the same following his fight with Burns.

Who do you think will win when these two finally meet? Let us know in the comments below.
