What is the story behind the name of ONE Championship? Chatri Sityodtong details

ONE Championship is a promotion that has managed to bring some major changes in the combat sports circuit. Ever since the first event of ONE Championship back in 2011, the promotion has been going strong and is now home to a long list of combat sports athletes across multiple disciplines.

ONE Championship Chairman Chatri Sityodtong was quizzed about the story behind the name of ONE Championship recently on his Instagram account and Chatri went on to explain that there are many factors that contributed to the same.

“The name is ONE for a few reasons. first, ONE represents the best in the world. second, ONE is easy to remember in any country or any language. third, our hashtag is #WeAreONE because we want to unite the world through our stories, heroes, and values. ultimately, my team and I at ONE want to inspire the world to dream more, do more, and be more in life,” he wrote in the comment section.

Apart from talking about the name, Chatri also hinted that ONE Championship is planning to hold events in the United States and Europe this year if everything goes well.

Since its inception ONE Championship has held more than 100 events across the Asia Region and is amongst the world's top 10 biggest sports media properties in terms of viewership and engagement as per Nielsen.
