Yoel Romero made his much-awaited Bellator debut today at Bellator 266 when he went up against Phil Davis.
The fight started off on a cautious note as the first round was uneventful, to say the least. The second round, saw Davis pushing early with the offense and was met with a push from Romero as well. Davis landed a huge takedown to end the round on a strong note.
Davis had a comfortable third round as well and when the round ended, drama unfolded as Romero came out saying that he expected a five-round matchup. In the end, the judges gave the fight in favor of Davis via a split decision.
In the co-main event, Neiman Gracie secured a first-round TKO win over Mark Lemminger. DeAnna Bennett outclassed Alejandra Lara via a unanimous decision after three rounds of action. Saul Rogers and Ben Parrish also secured wins on the main card. Saul Rogers went the distance against Georgi Karakhanyan when Parrish stopped Christian Edwards in the first round.
The preliminary card also had some exciting action on offer with Alex Polizzi and Grant Neal putting together a memorable fight which resulted in a split decision win for Polizzi. You can see the complete results for the event below.
