5Jab Foundation has noted that a new boxing academy will be set up at the Jarkhar Sports Stadium on Ludhiana-Malerkotla Road. Free training will be provided to boys and girls in the academy with the aim of getting maximum representation from Punjab for the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games.
As part of the project, Special consideration will be given to training girl athletes and helping them to grow into national and international level athletes. The team is also providing Performance Scholarship based on the performance of the children in the training camp.
Talking to LockerRoom India, Jagdeep Singh, Founder of 5Jab Foundation said that the major objective of setting up multiple academies is so as to provide the best possible infrastructure for the upcoming generation to train and to grow. All necessary items will be provided for free to the students including coaching, boxing ring, and sports equipment.
The team already has a Boxing Academy functioning at Chakar Village. The 5Jab Foundation has also decided to function Boxing Centres in Jarkhar (Ludhiana) and Talwara (Kapurthala) as well. 5Jab Foundation has Capt. Swaran Singh at the helm in Talwara as the Director when Jagroop Singh is the Director of the Foundation in Jarkhar. The foundation in Chakar is being led by Balwant Singh who is the director.
Additionally, the Dream Sports Foundation has the Dream Jab program running in association with 5Jab which aims to provide training, equipment, kits, coaching, nutrition, and infrastructure to 80 athletes from the villages of Punjab, with a special focus on self-defense for female participants and the repairment of boxing rings.
