A super fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Zhang Weili has been in discussion for some time. Valentina Shevchenko has been ruling the UFC Flyweight division for a long time now and has been unstoppable.

Zhang Weili, on the other hand, recently recaptured the UFC Strawweight title and will be looking to get another belt to her resume.

The Chinese Superstar already expressed her interest in fighting Shevchenko and noted that the fight will be an exciting one for the fans.

And now, Shevchenko has echoed a similar emotion. The Flyweight champion, however, noted that the recent improvements that Zhang Weili had in her game will not be enough.

“Definitely. It’s one of the options that can happen definitely. I saw her recent fights. She got stronger, more tactical. But if fight is gonna happen, it’s not gonna help her.” Shevchenko said in an interview with MMA Junkie.

Manon Fiorot is The Bullet's initial choice for the following challenger, but she also suggested Alexa Grasso if Fiorot was unable to accept. In order to compete in a trilogy versus UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes, she is also open to switching weight classes.

Rematching Taila Santos, who she defeated by a split decision earlier this year, is one battle with Shevchenko isn't too keen on right now. Shevchenko believes Santos has "too much ego," and that rather than waiting for a quick rematch, she should earn her way to one.

Shevchenko is on a nine-fight winning streak right now. Her last loss came against Amanda Nunes in 2017 and after this, Shevchenko has been dominating the Flyweight division as champion.
