BRAVE CF 74 is just around the corner, and all eyes are on the main event, where France's own Ylies Djiroun will lock horns with the former BRAVE CF Lightweight champion, Lucas "Mineiro" Martins. As Nantes prepares to host its first-ever BRAVE CF event, Djiroun, the hometown hero, took some time to sit down with LockerRoom for an exclusive interview.

Q1: You've had success in BRAVE CF with a 2-1 record. How does it feel to be the hometown hero for this event in Nantes, and do you believe the home crowd advantage will play a significant role in your performance?

Djiroun: It’s amazing for me. Amazing, amazing. It’s my first MMA fight in France. BRAVE CF is my show, my home, and to be able to fight in the main event in my country is incredible. I want to say thank you inside the cage, and my performance will show how grateful I am. I believe that I will feed off the energy of this crowd.

Q2: With 10 wins by submission, your ground game is formidable. How do you intend to implement your grappling skills against a former champion like Lucas Martins, who has a well-rounded skill set?

Djiroun: I don’t have anything different prepared for him. I will go into the fight with a mentality to take risks. I want to put on a good show and not make it a tactical performance. I want to make it exciting; that’s my plan for him.

Q3: You have your sights set on a potential challenge to the reigning 155-pound champ Abdisalam Kubanychbek. How much pressure do you feel to not only win this fight but also make a statement to earn a shot at the title?

Djiroun: I need to go back and speak to my manager. I take it fight by fight. Now, my focus is on this next fight. I need to beat this guy. Afterward, we’ll see what happens. I initially wanted to drop down to Featherweight, but the opportunity came to take on Lucas, and I couldn’t say no. Now, we will see. My target now is Lucas. Now we will see. But the options are to come down to Featherweight or to get a title shot.

Q4: The event is set to be a huge milestone for MMA in France. What is your take on the same, and how do you see the role of BRAVE CF in French MMA?

Djiroun: BRAVE CF has done a big job for the world of MMA. They have gone to places around the world, like no one else. I don’t see anyone else going to Colombia, for example. Not even the UFC goes to these places, so it’s been amazing to see. Now that they are landing in France, I feel I’m the face of BRAVE CF here, and I believe they will continue to do a great job here. Maybe the next event will take place in Marseille, my city. I guarantee a full Velodrome Stadium in case that happens.

As Ylies Djiroun gears up for his main event clash against Lucas Martins at BRAVE CF 74, the French MMA sensation is not only driven to secure victory but also to leave a lasting impression on the fans and continue the growth of MMA in France. This historic event promises to be a thrilling spectacle, and Djiroun is ready to shine on his home turf.
