Vladyslav Rudniev, renowned as one of the world's most formidable fighters, found himself battling not just his opponent but also a surge of emotions as he marked his debut for the prestigious BRAVE Combat Federation in Nantes, France, last week. Rudniev's maiden appearance under the BRAVE CF banner culminated in a hard-fought unanimous decision victory over the local favourite, Anthony Dizy, in a thrilling Lightweight co-main event at BRAVE CF 74.
Hailing from Ukraine, Vladyslav Rudniev has earned a reputation as one of Eastern Europe's most respected athletes. His accolades include four consecutive combat sambo world championships, achieved in two different weight classes (74kg and 79kg). While Rudniev has already conquered the heights of one of the most gruelling disciplines in combat sports, the transition to mixed martial arts and the opportunity to compete for BRAVE Combat Federation represented a long-held dream for the undefeated warrior.
"I love fighting for BRAVE Combat Federation so much. I am happy to be here," shared Rudniev in his locker room moments after his triumph over Dizy. However, as the euphoria of the moment began to subside, Rudniev retreated to a corner of his locker room, where he sat in contemplative silence, attempting to grasp the significance of the occasion, all while being overwhelmed by a flood of emotions.
Aware of the presence of a cameraman capturing his intimate moment, Rudniev maintained a low profile, concealing his face in an attempt to shield his tears of joy from the world. "I will do everything to impress the fans and one day fight for the Lightweight title. Thank you so much, BRAVE Combat Federation," Rudniev concluded, expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the organization that had made his dream a reality.
