When Georges St Pierre called Virat Kohli into the UFC octagon

Georges St Pierre and Virat Kohli are two names that need no introduction. GSP is one of the best MMA Fighters out there and is a former two-division UFC champion.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, is a cricketing icon and has a long list of records to his name. It is not every day that these two cross paths and such an incident happened back in 2016.

It all started in 2016 when BCCI tweeted out a picture of the Indian Cricket team interacting with NBA players in the United States. GSP, who is known as a fan of cricket, welcomed the Indian team and Virat Kohli to the US.

“Welcome to America @imVkohli! Show me how you run the pitch and I’ll show you how to own the octagon #TeamIndiainUSA,” GSP tweeted.

Virat Kohli decided to take up the invite and expressed his interest in learning MMA.

“Thank You for the Welcome @GeorgesStPierre, I would love to enter the Octagon & learn a few things #TeamIndiainUSA” the Cricket star wrote on his Twitter.

Whether or not the two met still remains as a mystery.

Two Legends in their respective sports

Both Virat Kohli and Georges St Pierre have unmatched careers to showcase. GSP was one of the most dominant champions in the UFC and ruled the UFC Welterweight division for years. He also became the UFC middleweight champion in his last fight and has been away from the sport ever since.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, holds a string of cricketing records to his name. He has the second-most century in Day International cricket behind Sachin Tendulkar and has the second-most century in international cricket. He is also the leading run scorer in T20 Internationals while also being the fastest player to score 10,000 runs in ODIs.
