Indian MMA fighter Vikas Singh Ruhil is all set to make history on 4 March 2023 at the PFL Challenger Series. He is set to be the first Indian fighter to compete under the PFL banner as he competes at the Featherweight bracket on the show.

Speaking exclusively to LockerRoom prior to his match, Vikas noted that he will be giving his 200 per cent when he steps into the smart cage.

“I will be giving my hundred per cent. The attempt will be to avoid coming back without anything. I’m not thinking that I’m fighting after 2.5 YEARS. I’m thinking that I am FIGHTING after 2.5 years. Both are the same sentence but the way we tell it is difference. So everything that has been stored in the past two and a half years will come out. And as far as the PFL debut is concerned, I will be trying 200 per cent to get the win and will be putting my life on the same,” Vikas said in the interview which you can see below.

Vikas will be locking horns with James Gonzalez of the United States at the event. Vikas was initially scheduled to fight Igeu "Smiley" Kabesa, a wrestler and jiu-jitsu expert from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. However, Kabesu had to pull out of the event due to visa issues.

Gonzalez comes into the fight on the back of a win against Cody Law at Bellator 282. Prior to this, he had competed at Ring of Combat, and CFFC among others. He holds a professional MMA Record of 9-5 to his name and is scheduled to fight in LFA after this fight.

Vikas, on the other hand, is 12-6 in his professional MMA career. The Indian fighter is riding high on a seven-fight undefeated streak. He last fought at Matrix Fight Night when he secured a win against Kuldeep Singh Sekhon at Matrix Fight Night 4. Before this, he had secured wins over Vikas Dahiya and Rakesh Ahlawat.

Training out of Team Relentless, Vikas will be looking to bank on his momentum and get another win on his resume and subsequently, the PFL Contract.
