Indian Boxing star Vijender Singh gets second round KO win in his return

Indian Boxing star Vijender Singh made his return to the ring last day at the Jungle Rumble Event in Raipur against Eliasu Sulley of Ghana. The Indian who was coming off his first professional boxing loss bounced back strongly and got into winning ways with a second-round knockout win.

Sulley came into the fight with an undefeated record on his resume but it was the experience of Vijender that proved to be the difference. With the win, he improved his record to 13-1 with his lone loss coming against Artysh Lopsan back in 2021.

Vijender Singh made his professional boxing debut back in 2015 against Sonny Whiting and went on to build an impressive undefeated streak before he locked horns with Artysh.

The Indian fought across the globe during his run with fights happening in Manchester, Dublin, Liverpool, New Delhi, Newark, and Dubai among others. Nine out of Vijender’s 13 wins came via knockout as well.

Prior to his professional boxing run, Vijender had a successful amateur career which saw him pick up an Olympic medal.

Undercard bouts

Apart from the return of Vijender Singh, the undercard of Jungle Rumble had some exciting fights. Top Ranked Indian Boxer Faizan Anwar secured a knockout victory against Sachin Nautiyal to continue his impressive run. Faizan has been a force to reckon with for a long time now and has once again cemented his spot on the top.

Gupreet Singh got an impressive win over Shaikhom Rebaldo Singh when Karthik Sathish added another win to his resume. Karthik is the reigning WBC Asia Silver Title holder and backed up his credentials with the win on the card.

The event was promoted by Chinmay Tiwari of Purple Goat Sportainment and sanctioned by Indian Boxing Council. The event had Brigadier PKM Raja as the Event supervisor when Manoj Pawar, Ajay Salvi, Rahul Sharma, Kevin David and Suraj Thakur were the officials. The event was broadcasted on Voot and Sports 18 Khel.

IBO Oceania Orient champion Asad Asif Khan was also on the winning column as he outclassed Amey Nitin. You can see the complete results for the event below.
