The Inner Circle: Oumar Kane Ready To Prove A Point In Anatoly Malykhin Rematch

Oumar Kane is not done making history. The reigning ONE Heavyweight MMA World Champion returns to action at The Inner Circle on Friday, May 15, when he puts his title on the line against Anatoly Malykhin in a highly anticipated rematch that has been a long time coming.

The two rivals were originally scheduled to clash last year before the bout was called off after Kane suffered an accident. The unfinished business has only added fuel to an already explosive rivalry, and the Senegalese fighter arrives in camp in the best shape of his career.

Kane has built one of the most remarkable stories in ONE Championship history. He carries a 7-1 career MMA record with four finishes and rides a five-fight winning streak into the rematch. But he is not coming into this fight standing still.

"I've changed everything, made upgrades in every skill set. The new Oumar is coming. You can expect me to be stronger, more powerful — and faster. At the same time, I think Anatoly is going to be better also. It would be wrong to underestimate him," Kane said.

Standing across from him will be a man with plenty to prove. Malykhin enters the rematch carrying the weight of the only loss of his career, a defeat suffered at Kane's hands.

"He's quiet now because he knows I'm the better fighter. He's not talking now because he's scared. That's the honest truth," he revealed.

Despite the pointed words, Kane is careful not to dismiss the threat Malykhin poses. He knows what his opponent is capable of and has prepared accordingly. But his belief in the outcome remains absolute.

"I give him the respect he deserves. No doubt, he's a good fighter. But he still can't beat me. He will never beat me," Kane said.
