Srikant Sekhar is all set to make his return at MFN 11. The Indian MMA star was out of action following the injuries he picked up during the unfortunate post-fight events at Matrix Fight Night 9.
Srikant was attacked by a mob of fans after the event which resulted in a broken jaw for him and subsequently, surgery. The Indian was out of action for nine months as a result and is now set to make his return as he fights John Mitchell of Ireland at Matrix Fight Night 11 in Delhi on 31 March 2023.
The Indian currently holds a professional MMA record of 7-6 to his name and secured a submission win over Sumeet Khade in his last fight at MFN 9. Prior to this, he had suffered a knockout loss to Zahoor Shah of Afghanistan.
Srikant has been one of the mainstays in Matrix Fight Night having been part of the promotion from the first event itself. He secured wins over Rajinder Singh Meena and Jason Ramesh Solomon at MFN 1 and MFN 2 respectively before suffering a loss to Anshul Jubli.
Hailing from Odisha, Srikant is now 4-2 in MFN and will be looking to climb to the top of the MFN Lightweight division with another win.
As for John Mitchell, this will be his promotional debut in Matrix Fight Night. He has been competing in MMA since 2016 and had outings at the IMMAF European MMA Championships during his amateur run.
Later, when he turned professional, John was prominently featured in Cage Warriors and later at UAE Warriors. He is currently 5-1 in his professional MMA career. Interestingly, this will be not the first time that John will be fighting in India as he recently fought Bassel Ahmed at Sangai MMA which happened in Manipur.
MFN 11 is set to happen on 31 March 2023 in Delhi and will be headlined by the Welterweight title showdown between Seth Rosario and Darkhanbek Ergeshev.
