BRAVE CF 98 Set for September 19 in Zhengzhou With Interim Featherweight Title

BRAVE Combat Federation will return to China for the third time in its history with BRAVE CF 98, set for Sept. 19 at Henan TV Studio 8 in Zhengzhou, in partnership with YFU.

The event will be headlined by a high-stakes rematch for the BRAVE Interim Featherweight World Championship, as No. 1-ranked Omar Solomanov of Ukraine faces No. 2-ranked Rauan “Shymyr” Bekbolat of Kazakhstan. The winner will earn the right to challenge reigning champion Nemat “Eagle” Abdrashitov of Kyrgyzstan in a title unification bout.

Solomanov and Bekbolat last met at BRAVE CF 85 in August 2024, where Bekbolat scored a third-round submission victory via guillotine choke. Their rivalry now returns to the spotlight with gold on the line.

Our goal in every market we enter has always been to help develop MMA as an industry, and China is no exception,” said Mohammed Shahid, President of BRAVE CF. “This upcoming card will feature everything from a world title showdown to the emergence of future Asian MMA superstars. On September 19, MMA fans around the globe will have the chance to see China’s finest talents on display.

In the co-main event, China’s own Xie Bin, known as “The Stalker,” will make his long-awaited promotional debut against former BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion Nicholas Hwende of Zimbabwe in a featherweight clash.

The lead card will also see the return of No. 5-ranked Super Lightweight contender Khamzat Maaev, the promotional debut of Indian prospect Owais Yaqoob, the first MMA fighter from Kashmir to compete under a major international promotion, and the comeback of Indian veteran Kantharaj Agasa after nearly six years away from the BRAVE CF cage.

The card will feature seven additional matchups, including a lineup of Chinese fighters facing elite international opponents, adding to the anticipation for a blockbuster night of MMA action.
