Shavkat Rakhmonov is set to make a mark at UFC 285. One of the hottest contenders in the UFC Welterweight division, Shavkat has already captured the attention of the MMA community with his flawless performances.

Rakhmonov hasn't been far behind Khamzat Chimaev, who emerged as one of the fastest-rising stars at 170 pounds a few years ago. The former M-1 champion has raised his hand four times in a dominant manner since entering the Octagon, increasing his flawless professional record to 16-0 and keeping a 100% finish rate in the process.

And after defeating Neil Magny, who holds the division's record for victories, via submission at UFC Vegas 58 last June, Rakhmonov has a chance to enter the title picture this weekend at UFC 285, when he'll face the #7-ranked Geoff Neal.

Rakhmonov, who was born in Uzbekistan, attained Kazakh citizenship in 2017. Rakhmonov, 28, comes from the Altynbai clan of the Junior Zhuz, one of the three main territorial and tribal divisions in the Kypchak Plain area, which encompasses much of modern Kazakhstan. His mother is from the Konyrat tribe and his father is from the Altynbay tribe.

He is looking forward to becoming a Kazakh UFC champion and ahead of that, he was asked whether he can defeat certain UFC fighters.

A long list of names was pitched to Rakhmonov and he is confident he can beat almost all of them with the only exception being Francis Ngannou.

Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards, Islam Makhachev, Mike Tyson, Khamzat Chimaev, and Tyson Fury were the fighters that Shavkat was confident about beating.
