Shamil Erdogan Ticks Another Fighter Off The List at ONE Fight Night 48

Paul Elliott had the perfect finishing record and a puncher's chance, but Shamil Erdogan is a different kind of problem. The two heavyweights collided in the main event of ONE Fight Night 48 on Prime Video, live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, October 2.

Erdogan dragged this one to the mat almost immediately and just wouldn't let up, grinding on Elliott for nearly the entire first round. Elliott showed some fight in round two, though, cracking Erdogan with a right hand and even spinning into a kick that had the crowd buzzing.

But Erdogan wasn't done. He took it right back to the canvas, got mount, and started dropping elbows until Elliott had no choice but to give up his back. That was all Erdogan needed, locking in the rear-naked choke for the tap at 2:28 and staying perfect at 14-0.

Parham Gheirati hadn't fought in a year, but you wouldn't have known it watching him go after Nakrob Fairtex right from the bell in the co-main event. Nakrob started landing his own counters and looked to be settling in, until a surprise left hand from Gheirati dropped him for the first knockdown.

The two kept trading in the clinch through two more rounds, and then a sharp Gheirati jab dropped Nakrob again in round three. He got back up swinging, but Gheirati's output down the stretch was enough for the unanimous nod and his 14th career win.
