Rodtang Commits Future To ONE Championship With New Deal

Rodtang Jitmuangnon has signed a new deal with ONE Championship, committing his future to the promotion in a signing ceremony held at Jitmuangnon Gym in Thailand earlier today, July 23, on his 29th birthday.

For Rodtang, the decision to re-sign was about far more than competition. It was a recognition of everything the sport has given him and his family.

"I don't think any other career could have given me the recognition and ability to provide for my family the way being a fighter has. I'll keep giving it my all until I no longer have the strength to fight," he said.

The Thai megastar's relationship with ONE Championship stretches back to 2018, when he made his promotional debut and immediately announced himself as a force to be reckoned with.

Four straight victories earned him a title shot against ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty in 2019. Rodtang outclassed the British superstar to claim the throne and defended it multiple times against the division's finest challengers, building a 274-44 career record and a 17-3 ONE record across a career defined by relentless aggression and iron-chinned toughness.

In 2024, Rodtang was stripped of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title after failing to make weight and pass hydration for his World Title defense. What came next, however, only reminded the world of his enduring brilliance.

He knocked out Japanese megastar Takeru Segawa in just 80 seconds at ONE 172 in March 2025, a stunning performance that proved his danger extended beyond Muay Thai and into kickboxing as well.

Then came the rematch at ONE SAMURAI 1 this year, where Takeru turned the tables in one of the most emotional fights in recent memory, stopping "The Iron Man" in the fifth round to claim the ONE Interim Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship before retiring from the sport.

The flyweight Muay Thai throne that Rodtang once ruled for so long is now held by Russia's Asadula Imangazaliev, and a fight date for the returning Thai has yet to be announced. But the message from Rodtang on the day of his re-signing was as straightforward as the man himself.

"I'm still the same old Rodtang," he added.
