Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon returns to the Circle at ONE Fight Night 4: Abbasov vs. Lee, where he defends his ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title against strawweight Muay Thai king Joseph Lasiri in the evening’s co-main event.

The 19 November bout at the Singapore Indoor Stadium will mesh two different approaches to “the art of eight limbs,” but here’s how one of the organization’s most exciting strikers can walk away with the victory.

Throwing Counter-Attacks

If you’ve seen Lasiri battle inside the Circle before, you’ll know that he is very active and doesn’t like to stay still for a moment.

Fans witnessed this in his previous fight with Prajanchai PK.Saenchai, who he defeated for the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title in dominant form.

So, in order for Rodtang to make his shots count, he’s going to have to lure the Italian into a false sense of security and counter at every opportunity. In fact, catching Lasiri’s kicks and firing back will be a key asset for the reigning flyweight king on that night.

Matching Lasiri’s Pace

They call Lasiri “The Hurricane” for a reason. As mentioned, he doesn’t like to give his opponents a moment to think.

With that, Rodtang will have to stay just as active or get caught in a whirlwind of attacks. Wherever Lasiri goes, Rodtang should go. Whatever Lasiri throws, Rodtang should answer.

If the Thai can match his challenger’s pace in the Circle, it will provide him with more opportunities to land flush and score a highlight-reel finish.

Staying In Range

Rodtang loves to walk down his opponents and take whatever comes his way in the process, enabling the Thai standout to fight in close quarters.

If you look at his previous battle against Jacob Smith, Rodtang took this approach. This is a tactic that he will look to exploit against Lasiri, who requires plenty of space to manoeuvre his agile fighting style.

If Rodtang can stay within range, he’ll provide himself with plenty of opportunities to land significant strikes on the strawweight striking great.
