What is On The Line For Bibiano Fernandes At ONE Fight Night 4

Third-ranked bantamweight Bibiano Fernandes will make his first Circle appearance since losing his strap to John Lineker earlier this year. 

The Brazilian takes on #5-ranked contender Stephen Loman in a mixed martial arts bout at ONE Fight Night 4: Abbasov vs. Lee at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, 19 November, with the hopes of getting closer to regaining his ONE Bantamweight World Title.

The veteran is no stranger to adversity, having demolished most of his opponents. In fact, before his first defeat in ONE he went on a 10-fight winning streak. 

However, this time the legendary bantamweight comes up against 16-2 Loman, who is eager to take the veteran’s scalp at ONE Fight Night 4 and get closer to his own ONE World Title shot.

That being said, if Fernandes doesn’t win on 19 November, we could see a possible changing of the guard. After all, time isn’t on the 42-year-old's side despite continuing to bang with the young guns and put on impressive displays at an elite level. 

If he wants another crack at his old belt, though, Fernandes must impressively dispatch 27-year-old Loman at ONE Fight Night 4. To do this, he should use his striking and sublime submission game, skills that have made him one of the most dangerous bantamweights. 

Moreover, now that the ONE Bantamweight World Title is vacant after Lineker was stripped for not making weight and his fight with Fabricio Andrade was ruled a no contest after a low blow at ONE Fight Night 3, Fernandes has a real opportunity to reclaim his throne.

The battle-tested bantamweight has been to the mountain top twice before, and he could do it again should he topple Loman.
